Issues to pray about today

China sees the upcoming Olympics in Beijing as an opportunity to market themselves, positively, to the world. Because of this, the Chinese government has been cracking down on anyone who might be 'causing problems'. This includes regular, committed Christians. Many are getting imprisoned b/c they are 'risky, potential troublemakers.'

In a recent statement, the UN declared North Korea the #1 worst country in the world to live in. Needless to say, thousands of North Koreans are trying to escape. Many/most flee to China. If they are caught--which they often are--they are sent back. In North Korea they face prison camps or execution - their punishment for trying to escape.
