News from Chrissie: teaching in Indonesia

For those who know my sister Chrissie, here's an excerpt from her family letter written Saturday:

Pretty much, though, the kids that I teach are some of the most blessed in the world. They come from Christian homes where the parents are very supportive. Several of my kids have their own car with a driver to take them around. They own huge houses with anywhere from 3-20 maids. They take trips around the world during the holidays. And yet, unlike wealthy kids overseas, they're thankful and respectful.

On the other end of the social spectrum are the orphan babies I try to visit after school. There are quite a few smaller kids at the orphanage but I usually just spend time with the babies. There were eight babies but one of them died of dehydration recently. A new one just came and he's probably just a couple of weeks old. Whenever I go I get the privilege of changing diapers. I think that yesterday I changed 6 diapers... :\
