Recent Pictures from Zambia

Thought y'all might like to see these pictures. They were taken by Andrew T., a friend of Ted and myself, when he, his brother Paul and his sister Rachel went to Zambia for a few weeks, staying with my parents. They went to see first-hand the mission work there, and to hear my dad's jokes. :)

-------------------------------

Andrew, my dad, two dear kids in the background, Rachel, Paul, Ted; I guess my mum took the picture :)

The town of Mansa from atop "the rocks" near our house

The side view of our house in Mansa

My mum and Paul traversing a dangerous bridge, :) in true missionary style.

Ted, Andrew and Paul (looking surprised) at Mumbuluma Falls, which is not too far from Mansa; but is pretty deep in the Bush

Andrew, Rachel and Ted atop the Falls; a great place to jump from

People surrounding the coffin at Andrew Mulaye's funeral. Remember my earlier post about this man? Some of you prayed for him in his final hours of life from this blog. Type "mulaye" into the search box to the right to see that post.

There were 1,000 people there. In Zambia, old well-known people attract the biggest crowds at a funeral. In Canada, the biggest crowds come when someone young dies; and many elderly people's funerals are attended by just a handful of people.

Ted w/ the youth. Type "youth" into the search box to the right to read Ted's recent report about his involvement with the youth in Mansa. Here he is serving the snack on the Saturday afternoon of the youth rally he described in his report.

I just had to put this picture in; what a cool guy!

The kids love Ted... and to think he's still single. ;)

And while we're on the topic of Ted being single: please do not use up all your colour ink printing copies of this last picture for the young ladies you know! :)

Lord, thank you for your work around the world, and for how much your Word has gone out in Zambia. Thank you for the great Harvest that is being reaped there now. One thing I've always wondered: with the number of people being saved, how can the angels keep up with all the rejoicing? Father, be with your workers around the world, especially the lesser-known and often discouraged missionaries whose pictures never show up on someone's blog. Help us all to go where you want us to go and to do what you want us to do. Amen.
