Abdul Rahman: willing to die for Christ

Update #2. March 31: Received the following from someone today, who got it from a missionary from his church in Afghanistan:
We have been keeping an eye on it over here for a number of reasons. This case is extremely important not only because of what it means for the life of this man, but for the psychological effect it could have on new national believers and those close to making a decision. Please pray for them especially at this time! Paul tells us that "God gave us not a spirit of fear, but of power and love and discipline." Pray that national believers will embrace this attitude - that they will boldly and fearlessly stand for their faith even as they are face with a prime example of the dangers that their faith can put them in.
Original post (March 28):
According to an email I got today, Abdul Rahman (see my earlier blog post about his case here) recently said, "If I must die, I will die. Somebody, a long time ago, did it for all of us." I cannot verify the authenticity of this quote, but Abdul's life speaks this regardless. What a challenge!
Pray with Me:
Lord, we pray for Abdul. We thank you for his tremendous testimony. As the world watches, Lord, we pray that Abdul's case would bring you glory. We pray that you would continue to fill Abdul with strength and faith and a strong presence of the Holy Spirit. We pray that his testimony would cause millions of Afghans and muslims around the world to stop and think and ask themselves who this Jesus--whom the Qu'ran says was sinless and born of a virgin--really is. Show many that Jesus is your Son, and that he died on the cross for a reason. Father, limit the corruption in this case, and raise Christians up to pray. Raise up Christians, like me, who don't pray nearly enough for the persecuted Church. Give us a greater awareness of the reality of persecution in the Church today, and prepare us now for the persecution that may lie ahead even for us. Amen.
